On Site Assessment Info

On Site Assessment

An On Site Assessment is perfect for larger or more complex venues. It is also a great option to provide a greater depth of information to your customers or guests. This can be particularly valuable if people spend significant amounts of time at your venue, as a day trip or an overnight stay.

The Assessment involves one of our experienced AccessAble surveyors travelling to your venue to carry out an in depth survey on site. The surveyor will be able to work independently and discreetly. They will collect 100s of pieces of information. They will take a comprehensive range of measurements, detail walking distances, describe colour contrast, lighting and noise levels, measure gradients and detail fixtures and fittings.

While on site they will also test any assistive listening (hearing assistance systems), take high quality photos and take 360-degree images for areas such as accessible toilets, bedrooms, bathrooms and Changing Places.

Surveyors undergo extensive competency-based training and have a wealth of experience.

Depending on the size and complexity of your venue a surveyor may be on site for anywhere between an hour and a whole day. Once the on-site work is complete the surveyor will get to work creating your Detailed Access Guide before passing it on for quality assurance. This process generally takes 2 to 3 times longer than the time spent on site.

Our team will contact you directly to book a convenient time for the surveyor’s visit. They are always happy to answer any questions and will be able to outline how long the surveyor will need.

The Guide is published on AccessAble.co.uk, which is currently used by over 6 million people.

Your website can seamlessly link to your Detailed Access Guide on AccessAble to reassure all your customers with accessibility questions.

Once your Guide is published our team will get in touch with helpful advice on how to promote your Guide and keep it up to date.
